Trans-Atlantic Infraday (TAI) Conference at UMD

On November 2nd, 2007, the first Trans-Atlantic Infraday (TAI) Conference on Applied Infrastructure Modeling and Policy Analysis was succesfully completed at the University of Maryland, College Park (MD), USA The objective of the TAI conference was to identify similarities and differences between various networked industries: energy, transportation, telecommunication, and water as well as draw comparisons between North American and European experiences in research in this area with particular emphasis on the engineering-economic connection. The organizing institutions of the TAI were the University of Maryland (UMD), Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and the Chair of Energy Economics and Public Sector Management (EE2) at Dresden University of Technology. The organization was supported by the Atlantic Energy Group (AEG), DIW Berlin, and the Center for Network Industries (CNI) at Berlin University of Technology. The general chair was Prof. Steven A. Gabriel (UMD, Civil & Env. Eng.) and the co-Chair was Prof. Christian von Hirschhausen (Chair of Energy Economics and Public Sector Management (EE2) at Dresden University of Technology).
