The University of Maryland, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Civil and Environmental Engineering, likely at the assistant professor level. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to: guide an active scholarly research program, obtain funding from competitive external funding agencies, and teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Although the research specialization area of environmental engineering is open, a strong fundamental science/engineering background is desired and the following topics are of specific interest: chemical and biosensors development for pathogen and contaminant detection, water-energy-food nexus, urban water challenges, and resource recovery and reutilization.
