Prerequisites

Minimum Prerequisites for Graduate Study 

Applicants who do not already hold a degree in Engineering may be considered for provisional admission if the technical division minimum prerequisites are successfully completed. 

Environmental 
  • Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Differential Equations, Fluids, one semester of Chemistry for Environmental Engineers 
Civil Systems
  • Each applicant is evaluated and prerequisites determied on a case by case basis.
Geotechnical
  • Each applicant is evaluated and prerequisites determied on a case by case basis.
Project Management
  • Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, ENCE302 (Probability of Statistics for Civil and Environmental Engineers), and ENCE320 (Introduction to Project Management)
Structures
  • ENES220 (Mechanics II), ENCE353 (Introduction to Structural Analysis), ENCE453 (Computer-Aided Structural Analysis), ENCE454 (Design of Concrete Structures), and ENCE455 (Design of Steel Structures)
Transportation 
  • Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, ENCE302 (Probability of Statistics for Civil and Environmental Engineers), a course in Physics covering basic mechanics (statics and dynamics), one computer programming course.
Water Resources
  • Calculus I, Calculus II, Calculus III, Differential Equations, Fluids, Groundwater Hydrology, Hydrolic Engineering
