Last Chance to Register Online for Region’s First-Ever Project Management Symposium

College Park, Md.—Online registration for the inaugural Project Management Symposium, sponsored by the University of Maryland’s Project Management Center for Excellence and the Silver Spring Chapter of the Project Management Institute, will close Thursday, June 5, at 12:00 p.m. ET. Those who do not register for the symposium online by the June 5 deadline can do so on-site either day of the event.

Taking place June 9-10, 2014, in the Stamp Student Union on the University of Maryland campus in College Park, Md., this two-day symposium will draw project management professionals from academe, industry and government, and boast an agenda featuring more than 55 esteemed speakers in the field.

While a detailed agenda is available online, highlights of the Baltimore/Washington corridor’s first-ever full-scale project management symposium include: 

  • Feature presentations by Gregory Balestrero (Former President and CEO, Project Management Institute), Karen Durham-Aguilera (Director of Contingency Operations and Office of Homeland Security, Headquarters, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), Regina McElroy (Director, Office of Innovative Program Delivery, Federal Highway Administration), Ron Taylor (Principal and Founder, Ron Taylor Group), Mladen Radujkovic (President, International Project Management Association) and Melinda Peters (Administrator, Maryland State Highway Administration)
  • An opportunity to customize your education by choosing from sessions in disaster management, human factors, sustainability, case studies and lessons learned, IT & agile project management, construction and performance measurement
  • A one-of-a-kind networking reception, bringing together many of the region’s brightest minds in project management
  • Presentations by experts from organizations including the Department of Energy, Department of Housing & Urban Development, Naval Air System Command, Navigant, University of Maryland, U.S. Census Bureau and dozens more.

This event is being held in partnership between the UMD Project Management Center for Excellence and the Silver Spring Chapter of the Project Management Institute with media sponsorship support from Project Management World Journal.
