Managing nutrient leaching behavior in DC Water Cambi material

Principal Investigator(s)

The Blue Plains Advanced Wastewater Treatment plant in Washington DC has the capacity to treat 384 million gallons of sewage per day. Biosolids from this plant are treated using a novel thermal hydrolysis process. The resulting material has a high nutrient content and can be beneficially used on landscapes. The nutrient content and leaching behavior of this material is under investigation. More information about this project is available online.
